Cost Per Lead (CPL)

Also known as: CPL

The average advertising cost to generate one inbound claimant inquiry, regardless of whether the lead qualifies or signs. CPL is a useful efficiency metric for creative and audience optimization but is meaningless without a corresponding conversion-to-retainer rate. Low CPL with low conversion produces poor CPC.
