E-Signature (Retainer Execution)

Also known as: electronic retainer signing, digital retainer execution, e-sign intake

E-signature retainer execution is the process by which a prospective mass tort claimant electronically signs a fee agreement and authorization documents during or immediately after intake, using a compliant digital signature platform in lieu of wet ink. Because mass tort campaigns generate high volumes of signed retainers across multiple jurisdictions simultaneously, e-signature workflows are critical for reducing drop-off between initial contact and formal client engagement. Platforms used must satisfy applicable state bar rules governing electronic client agreements and federal standards such as the E-SIGN Act to ensure enforceability.
